The Agency recently changed our component to the Office of Disability Review and Adjudication (ODAR), from our prior designation as the Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA).

AFGE is committed to continuing to represent the employees of ODAR, as it represented the bargaining unit as OHA. As you are probably aware, the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration began rolling out her new disability plan, in the Boston Region, in May, with the announcement of 35 GS-13 Reviewing Officer jobs, and 35 GS-14 Reviewing Officer jobs. The roll-out will continue, and AFGE will be there enforce your rights. However, to do so effectively is costly, both in time and in money. We need members to remain the strongest Union in the Government sector. The stakes have never been higher, with the change to ODAR, the roll out of the disability plan, and the ongoing implementation of E-dib.
